We are a small team of educators with specialist knowledge and clinical experience in the diagnosis, assessment and management of Asthma and COPD in General Practice.
Our passion lies in helping primary care based health care professionals link theory to practice in such a way as to improve patient outcomes.
We started our journey in 2002 with the simple aim of providing the General Practice Nurse with an effective, affordable, credible and practical alternative to full blown single disease ‘diploma’ courses.
Twenty years on and our aim is exactly the same!
Tracy Kirk started off as a practice nurse in 1992. She was a lecturer on the BSc Specialist Practitioner Course at Manchester University teaching Chronic Disease Management.
In 2002 she set up what is now the Primary Care Respiratory Training Centre and has worked across the UK on large scale primary care based respiratory projects designing and delivering bespoke training packages to CCGs and Health Boards.
Tracy has mentored over 500 practice nurses and reviewed well over 10,000 Asthma and COPD patients in her time as a primary care based respiratory nurse consultant.
She uses her vast experience, knowledge and understanding of what it is like to deliver respiratory care in General Practice to develop educational content that is 100% fit for practice.
